My first blog post

Blogging is new to me but I have been interested in starting a blog for over a year now.  I usually don't have time to blog or read other blogs but due to unfortunate life changing events, I now have a little time to blog about myself and my interests. Since this is my first blog, I'm going to end it here and check out proper blogging etiquette before I get carried away :)
